Bosco & Jorge

The story of Bosco and Jorge begins nearly 18 years ago in the quietly strange town of Bartlesville Oklahoma. Legend has it they met at a Leo Kottke concert, at a local festival called SunFest. Or maybe they had met the day before, when Jorge was performing an old Scottish tune, Loch Leven Castle, with the local Guitar society. Then again maybe they didn't meet at all during that weekend. Jorge has fuzzy memories of being in a van with a rat tailed Bosco a few years earlier, Bosco prodding Jorge about how many warnings he had got from the cops for commiting petty acts of vandalism and other punkish crimes. Bosco had already had 6, one more and he was off to juvy. But none of that explains why this website is here, so speculation about ultimate origins will be put to rest for now. In 1998 they both relocated to Chicago and by 2000 they recorded their first full length , self titled "Bosco and Jorge" released by the now defunct Explain label. (Rob where are you (SWEET!)) By 2002 they had released their second album "Ally in the Sky", this time getting help from the great folks at Sixgunlover. In 2002 and 2003 Bosco & Jorge performed often in and around the Chicago area, and went on a few tours. AT this time the core band included John Poston (aka Bud Melvin) on banjo and Steve Hess on drums. 2004 and 2005 were relatively silent. In early 2005 Bosco and Jorge caught wind of this new "internet" thing and thought maybe it was time to re surface from the depths. Bosco & Jorge are working on a new full length album to be released sometime in 2006 by god knows who. Bosco and Jorge currently are: Bill Lowman (Bosco) and Brad Gallagher (Jorge), Matt Carson: chorus guitar, Darren Garvey: drums, precussion, guitar and John Londau Bass guitar.
